The Plaseqta alert has been deactivated due to the fire at the Tarragona sulfur factory
Civil Protection has deactivated the Plaseqta alert that was active since yesterday due to the fire at the Afepasa sulfur factory in the Constantí industrial estate. However, the pre-alert phase is maintained pending evaluation of the situation today.
For their part, the Firefighters have already confirmed that the fire is out and the sulfur readings in the air are negative. From 2 in the morning there are no crews in the polygon. During the morning they will be deployed again to carry out new thermal and environmental quality controls. In addition, they report that last night the material that had burned was already cold, although it will be necessary to carry out checks before considering the fire extinguished.
