The Generalitat wants "solvent" solutions to unlock Hard Rock

The Minister of Territory of the Generalitat de Catalunya, Juli Fernández, has assured that the Government is in a technical process to find "solutions and answers in a solvent, serious and demanding manner" to the "shortcomings" of the reform of the Urban Master Plan ( PDU) of the Recreational and Tourist Consortium (CRT) known as Hard Rock.

Within the framework of an interpellation of the CUP in the plenary session of Parliament, the minister added that there are 17 favorable sectoral reports and that the project will not be definitively approved until all the sectoral guarantees are available. This is what he said after the report of the Department of Climate Action that he points out non-compliance with the environmental requirements of the project that is planned in Vila-seca and Salou.

The Minister has recalled that a modification has to be made to part of the urban plan because a court ruling so mandates. As he explained, during the public information process of the modification, 17 sectoral reports have been received with their contributions and with a favorable result. Now, he added, his department is working with Climate Action and waiting to receive the industrial safety report.

For her part, the deputy of the CUP Laia Estrada has defended that now is not the time to modify the urban plan but to "discard" the project that, as she has said, is contrary to the interests of the majority of the population.

Likewise, according to Estrada, the Climate Action report was "devastating" because "it practically asks to redo the project that had been put on the table."
