Low hospital pressure due to covid in TGN

Tarragona hospitals continue to empty of patients who have been admitted with coronavirus.

According to the weekly report carried out by the Information System for the Surveillance of Infections in Catalonia (Sivic), if the week of October 10 to 16 we were talking about 34 people admitted with covid in hospitals in the province of Tarragona, in the week from 17 to 23 of the same month it has gone to 20.

These 20 are divided into 18 admitted to health centers in the Camp de Tarragona Health Region, by 2 in Terres de l'Ebre. Seven days earlier they were 26 and 8, respectively.

The ICUs, empty

There is also good news as far as the Intensive Care Units (ICU) are concerned. And it is that the beds of critics are empty again in the province of Tarragona. Last week a person was admitted to a center in Terres de l'Ebre, but in recent days there has been no person who has contracted the virus and who is recovering in the ICU.

In addition, no deaths have been reported in either Camp or Terres de l'Ebre in the last week.

Cases rise in TGN

On the other hand, there has been an increase in positive cases of covid in Tarragona. In fact, the increase is more than notable, since it has gone from 302 to 385 in just 7 days, which is why 83 cases have risen in the last week.

Most of the increase is in the Camp de Tarragona (+64), going from 215 to 279. In Terres de l'Ebre, 19 new cases have been added, going from the current 87 to 106.

Those hospitalized in Catalonia drop to 521

The same trend is repeated in Catalonia, at least in terms of hospitalizations. As has been known this Tuesday, Catalonia has a total of 521 admitted to hospital centers with coronaviruses, and those hospitalized in the ICU have increased to 17, according to the latest update this Tuesday of the Information System for Infection Surveillance in Catalonia. (Sivic).

Between October 17 and October 23, Catalan primary care has diagnosed 5,723 cases of coronavirus, while the previous week the CAPs diagnosed 5,121 infections, and has registered 10 deaths in this period.

The total number of people admitted to intensive care units (ICU) until Sunday is 17, one more than the previous week when there were 16 hospitalized in critical beds, and the total number of admitted has dropped from 540 to 521.
