Gerard Hammered announces his withdrawal by surprise

Barcelona center-back Gerard Piqué announced his retirement from football and that next Saturday's game against Almería will be the last game he plays at the Camp Nou, as published in a video posted on his social networks.

«This Saturday will be my last game at the Camp Nou. I will become one more culer, I will cheer on the team and I will pass on my love for Barça to my children just as my family did with me", Piqué affirms in the video entitled 'Culers, I have to tell you something'.

In the video, Piqué stressed that, after his time at Barça, he will not play for any other club. “I have decided that it is time to close this cycle. I have always said that after Barça there would be no other team. And so it will be," he noted.

Piqué, 35, will thus put an end to fourteen seasons in the Barcelona first team, the club in which he was trained and to which he returned in the 2008-09 season from Manchester United, the team where he played since 2004.
