4,669 homes without electricity in the Ebre due to the rains, update at 4:30 p.m.
Civil Protection of the Generalitat has activated since Friday afternoon Pla INUNCAT alert by an observation notice for the intensity of torrential rain, exceeding the threshold of 40 l/m² in 30 minutes, in the Ports area, in Terres de l'Ebre. The forecasts have been fulfilled since dawn.
Throughout the night and a good part of the morning, up to 256.2 l/m² were recorded in the Els Ports natural park and records of a hundred liters in towns such as Ulldecona (97.2 in the area known as Els Valentins ), Aldover (88), Gandesa (74.7) Rasquera (72), Mas de Barberans (66.5), Horta de Sant Joan (60) or Vinebre (54.3).
From the Operational Coordination Center of Catalonia (CECAT) of Civil Protection is in contact with the Hydrographic Confederation of the Ebro (CHE) to monitor the situation of the ravines in the Els Ports area, taking into account the amount of rain accumulated in this area and the increase in the flow of the Algars river.
Another consequence of this heavy downpour is the lack of electricity supply, as reported by Civil Protection. According to this morning's balance, there would be almost 6,000 affected in these regions without electricity in their homes. The power outage affects a dozen municipalities in these southern regions.
The reason for the lack of electricity supply would be a breakdown caused by heavy rains in recent hours.
As the hours have passed, the number of subscribers without electricity has risen to 6,660, with a third of those affected being residents of La Sènia (2,600), followed by Ulldecona 55 and Amposta 44. In the vicinity of Tortosa there are 420 owners without light.
In the data update at 4:30 p.m., the number of people affected by the power outage is 4,669.
Endesa has activated 40 agents and 5 generator sets.

Citizens are advised to be very careful when moving around the areas that may be affected by this episode of rainfall, and also in outdoor activities.
It is necessary to avoid parking the vehicle in riverbeds or underground flooding points, and never cross rivers or streams if they come down with water, especially in areas where greater intensities and accumulations are expected.
